Settling in

This week we welcomed all our new starters in Nursery! The children are getting to know our Nursery staff and exploring all the fun activities available in Nursery. They have been busy in the sand, the glitter tray, playing in the home corner even dancing to nursery rhymes! They are learning the routines of Nursery- our older nursery children are helping our new starters find their feet!

Let’s Get Active!

The children have loved the introduction of PE into the Nursery timetable. Every Thursday and Friday we will be taking the children down to the hall to join in lots of games and activities to develop their motor skills. We will be playing lots of team games, encouraging them to move in different ways and having lots of fun jumping, climbing and travelling! The children do not need a PE kit, we are just getting them to remove socks and shoes. Some of the children are fantastic at this and others still need some support. When they go into Reception […]

Red Nose Day 2019 in Early Years

The children brought money in so that they could decorate their own Red Nose cupcakes and they have been dancing to the ‘Stick A Nose On It’ Comic Relief […]

Fee Fi Fo Fum!

The giant told us that he was in a bit of a pickle and needed the children’s help ….. he wanted to know who cut his beanstalk down and how he could grow a new one. The children have enjoyed measuring, retelling the story, making beanstalks out of play dough, writing the giant letters and planting our very own beanstalks.

Debutots Story Time

The children had an absolutely magical visit from Kirsten from Debutots. They were spell bound by the magical games and music that she introduced them too. Their theme was Chinese New Year and they loved dancing with beautiful silk scarves to traditional Chinese music and moving their bodies in new and creative ways. They were then introduced to the story of the grumpy Jade Emperor and were fascinated with how the 4 dragons saved the people of China from drought by turning themselves into the 4 rivers of China. The children all joined in with the repetitive parts of the […]
