Following the children’s interests in all things magical, we have been having lots of fun learning about magic this week! We have looked at the story ‘Room on the Broom’ and we have been practicing our rhyming skills to think of our own magic words. The children have loved concocting their own potions and attempting to write them down. We have lots of weird and wonderful things added to our potions such as unicorns, slugs, snails and glitter!! The children continued their experience by making the potions for themselves in the nursery garden….. no children have been turned into frogs […]

As part of our Growing topic in Nursery we have been watching our tiny caterpillars as they grew and grew…they recently wrapped themselves in their cocoons and we were delighted when they finally hatched as butterflies. This week we have released them in our garden…we were sad to see them go but happy that they would be off and flying free! We are also busy watching our bean seeds as they grow…we planted them a couple of weeks ago and they are now getting really tall! We have placed them by the window so they can get plenty of sunlight […]
We have had 9 new additions to our Foundation Stage area this summer term – say hello to our newly hatched chicks! They held it carefully showing concern for the health of the chick. Each child understood the need to wash their hands afterwards to ensure that […]
The children have enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book characters today! We talked about our favourite characters and shared some of our favourite stories with our friends. Sharing books with your children is so important and great fun too. Share a book at bedtime and enjoy creating memories of favourite stories.
The Nursery children have been captivated by our visitor this week. We were lucky enough to have a wonderful story teller, to tell the children a Chinese story to celebrate Chinese New Year. They joined in dancing, music and games as well as helping to act out the story. They loved flying around the nursery with coloured scarves, pretending to be dragons.
