Year 4 had a very enjoyable visit to the Jewish Progressive Synagogue in Birmingham this week. We were able to have a tour of the building and learn more about the Jewish faith. We were really pleased to be able to see the Ark and the 4 scrolls kept within there, and we learnt interesting facts such as if a scroll is no longer needed, it is not allowed to be thrown away. Instead, it would be buried, or passed on to another Synagogue to use. The children also enjoyed learning more about the story of Moses and the Jewish celebration of Passover. On returning to school, we have all reflected on the visit and the things we learnt, and we have thought about how the experience made us feel.
