The 5-year survival rate tells you what percent of people live at least 5 years after the tumor is found. Percent means how many out of 100. The 5-year survival rate for people in the United States with a cancerous brain or CNS tumor is almost 36%. The 10-year survival rate is almost 31%.
Can a person with brain tumor live a normal life?

Surgery. If the brain tumor is located in a place that makes it accessible for an operation, your surgeon will work to remove as much of the brain tumor as can be done safely. Some brain tumors are small and easy to separate from surrounding brain tissue, which makes complete surgical removal possible.
